How the Feds Will Court the States

The states are essential to universal healthcare. As we are composed of a multitude of, well, states, that have wildly varying needs, cultures, and economies. They are as such best equipt to be able to allocate universal healthcare to their people. The federal government, in the interest of efficiency and ensuring the best system for the populace as a whole, will have a rather simple role to play.

Since the feds and congress, in particular, is holding the proverbial checkbook, the government will act as the main healthcare administrator. Their task would be to set a reasonable standard that the states are to follow, as well as being the actual, and single, payer of healthcare. They will also collect data on what procedures and services were rendered, their cost and where they were done. All of this will be done to better allocate funds to the states.

The states will be in charge of the final distribution of healthcare funds. The states can use the funds however they deem necessary for their healthcare needs. The only true condition is that all states will have to have a system in place in compliance with federal standards available to all their citizens.
